Rules 

The competition is divided into 3 categories:

Children: Open to all children ages 17 and under with minimal help from adults

Adult/Family: Open to all non-professional adults/families 

Professional: Open to all bakeries, culinary professionals, cake decorators or businesses in the baking industry. 

  • Any structure may be entered (house, church, school, barn, train, etc.) Historic Jonesborough buildings are encouraged. 

  • The main structure must be made of gingerbread or graham crackers. Purchased kits are acceptable except in the Professional category. 

  •  All components of the display except the base must be made of edible materials such as candy, cereal, cookies, crackers, pretzels, pasta, etc. 

  • All structures must be mounted on a hard, unbending base. 

  • There is no size limit but entries need to be sturdy and able to be moved. 

Entries will be judged on overall appearance, originality, creativity, decorative appeal, difficulty, and stability. Entries must be dropped off Wednesday, December 1st from 4-7 p.m. at the International Storytelling Center.

Entries will be on display starting Dec. 3rd at a downtown location. Voting will take place Dec. 3rd through Dec. 18th and winners will be announced on Monday, Dec. 20th.
